Damp grass, chilled air and soggy dog prove there was more rain overnight; but less-so than yesterday when it felt like invisible low-hanging fog, moist face glaze. I took a day off yesterday – round trip to Fort Saskatchewan for Isla’s 5th birthday party, some Highway 21 sight-seeing on the way back, a side trip to Stettler, my first time there in decades. Small towns and industry staging towns (like Lacombe and Blackfalds) show signs, acre upon acre of idle equipment of sad tales of an economy still on life-support, hoping recent statistical improvements in the economy manifest in real change for them.
