PREPARED FOR A SUDDEN STOP

I peer backward often enough – for short visits. Not that reflection need be negative, but ‘where I was’ is limiting and less-optimistic view of life than I hold today – rear-window view of my life. If life was a novel, made into a movie – what would yours be like? Would ‘all’ revealed, be a racy novel brought to life, or dreary documentary?
Life may come to an unexpected screeching halt one day. If it does, then I want to be thrown through my forward-view windshield, not locked in some trunk of regret, stuck away with a jack and a bald spare.
P.S. I remember someone joking once about elevators falling, ‘it’s not the fall that kills you, it’s the sudden stop’. That one always makes me smile …

morning walk: 2C/35F, gusty damp wind, overcast but not gloomy, damp but not raining just now – perfect spring day, but who took my summer away? Gusta always loves post-rain walks, I suppose everything rotting smells stronger if not better, and I was just along for the stroll, my mind somewhere else …
