A RECENT TUESDAY

Wednesday May 2, 2018

I had ‘one of those days’ recently – you know the kind. Gloomy. Down. Bereft of positive feeling. It wasn’t that I hadn’t been doing lots of good things, but in a business like mine those are the worst of days. Then, a few more days like that in quick succession. My mood, way below normal and it was a Tuesday which is my ‘take it easy’ day each week because of the Monday marathons putting out my weekly FACILITYCalgary newsletter that publishes every Tuesday morning. And then, a marvelous Tuesday unfolded. A day in which five likely transactions moved forward significantly – all in one day. I didn’t do a thing. OK, I didn’t do a thing that day. The phone kept ringing. Emails came in. I couldn’t have scripted it that way.

Then yesterday – another Tuesday. It was better somehow. A mix of good things, bad things and ‘nothing things’ that round out any typical/routine day. And so it goes.

Some days are routine, but rarely are they completely gloomy, down and bereft of positive feeling. And when they are, flip the calendar and you arrive at Wednesday – hump day, middle of the week day – and who can’t find a laugh in that?

Smile.

If you can’t smile, remember that you smiled recently …
