Living up to our potential is hard enough without living up to someone else’s vision of that potential – impossible to reconcile our expectations with theirs.
Opinion matters. What we think about what other people think about us, about our ideas, matter, as reflections and projections – what we think of ourselves, contrasted with what we want others to think of us.
We say, “What others think doesn’t matter.”
While that looks good on any page, we can’t avoid our gut feel about how others see us, and these feelings leak out, causing us to question how we trust our gut over logic.
