CONSIDERING THE SOURCE

Monday May 28, 2018

What causes us to question things, ideas or people?

Doubting curiosity of a fellow complicated mind?

Or doubting credibility of their source?

Someone we barely know, or someone we do know but don’t hold in high regard might provide the most profound message we dearly need – but we tune-out.

We don’t pay them attention?

We don’t consider them – not because of their message – but because of the source.

Reader feedback:

IN SEARCH OF PIECE

Hi Mark, Your writing about peace and quiet is a subtle reminder of the need to seek out balance. In materialistic, often self-created busy Calgary, this is easily lost when so many choices of malls, activities and events are readily available. Defining what calms the mind and inner spirt is the first step in changing routine to regularly include a recharge to see the completion of hobbies, books, or a walk along a river - thus being to reminded life can have a slower pace to recharge us vs. full on acceleration and full (exhaustion) stop. Spending time alone is often looked at as reclusive. I am optimistic it will have a resurgence in popularity and then ideas, happiness, self-esteem and self-confidence will flourish more readily to prevent the weeds from choking out the cerebral garden. Keep up the good work, BD, Calgary, AB
