We all do this. We don’t lay proper foundation to learn what we might learn, tell what might be told or keep ears open to do some intentional listening to hear what we expect, but more importantly to hear what we don’t expect. Listening for cues, clues and tells …
We rush to know, we rush to show off, we rush to advance our position, our argument, en-route to getting what it is we think we want. We ignore signs, sign-posts and feedback which would tell us far sooner when we are one the wrong track and miss completely the opportunities which are going off in some other direction.
Stop. Think. Listen.
I know, sounds like pre-school learning how to cross a road safely.
