DREAM RECALL
Wednesday Nov. 26, 2014

Going slow, anywhere, would be described as speedy over here.

Like most people I spend most days each year at home, in my home, in my workplace, in my community. Most days, not feeling particularly awakened or refreshed, not feeling at peace and relaxed as when on vacation – and I’m inclined to ask why not?

Why don’t I have more awakening moments there?

Why not indeed?

Awakenings, middle of night kind –strange dreams, real characters I know, their voices genuine – unsettle, as perhaps they should. Had one, last night. Friend who died showed up, explained he’d faked his death to see how everyone would react if he died. My sleepy logical brain got those metaphors, but my awake-dream brain asked, why?

Awakenings, middle of life – like dreams have logical and illogical elements, memories of things that happened,  might have or could have.

Awakenings, middle of morning walk – appreciating this special place, pace, and space – remembering every place visited, planning out these next three last-days to cover places not yet seen, revisit some, visit another new restaurant, re-visit three others (planning for tonight – appetizer at Longhi’s, dinner at Ruth Chris, desert at Tommy Bahama’s – to weave in un-shopped stores to fill vacant suitcase corners.

Then, I checked weather at home – wondering, for next year, if I might arrive later, stay longer still, and always feel like I’m in the middle of something rather than so near its end.

Whether we are sitting still, or going somewhere, changes, awake or not. Not so much about location or about travelling.

More about how we think, see, feel …

Recalling dreams, whether they happened or not.

morning walk:  23C/73F, clear – light breeze, surf still high, beach walking population (lots of fresh pale faces) as the Thanksgiving weekend boom starts here; still no whale sightings, went all the way to the Fairmont for my last apple Danish breakfast …

"There is no safety". I disagree Mark, Toyota builds a fairly safe truck. We found out on Sunday night (had an accident. Thats my daughter in the pic with the remains), WB, Olds, AB
