I was listening to a great presentation recently – I saw a true master working an audience, delivering a message very effectively. But I’d heard it before. It was no less interesting, but I heard it differently, felt it differently, learned from it differently. I’m not sure how I’ll feel when I hear it again …
My point – as I put myself in someone else’s shoes, is to wonder how my audience reacts the 2nd time, the 3rdtime, the 50th time that I speak about [or write about] my recurring theme, a recurring point. Is it about them, or about me? Is it a message they need replayed, or one that I haven’t heard enough, felt enough, understood enough?
This isn’t a roaring fire, not yet anyway. Feels more like kindling, getting ready to be lit.
