We ask friends, colleagues, clients – and they, in turn, ask us.
We all want, need, and crave validation from those who matter most. Even more so from those we want or expect to care about us, like parents, children, coaches, besties, and partners. I expect everyone has that obsessive need.
A silver lining in sales is getting lots of validation, or the illusion of it, with large deals or big paydays.
Rewards, awards, and acknowledgements salve those wounds that never heal, but not for long.
When validation comes in any form, it takes that pressure away.
We don’t greet each other with, “Wow, you look great!” or “I’ve been hearing good things.”
