MEDIUM PLEASE

Saturday Nov. 21, 2015

While earnest convention attendees partied last night, I turned in early.

Sleep, so delicious …

Being energetic starts somewhere, possibly in our actions, possibly in our thoughts.

Can we address the what in our why, does thinking about it determine it, or do actions reveal it?

Can we be big with wonder any particular morning if we didn’t go to sleep with dreams of wonder, does our philosophy of life determine our daily choices, or do our daily choices determine our philosophy?

I opted to skip this morning’s included conference buffet breakfast – choosing instead the free breakfast at my hotel across the street. Not raucous. No buffet. I was the only, perhaps first patron. Seated comfortably, waited on – newspaper provided when asked (I think it was my server’s own paper). I ordered from ‘standard free  breakfast’ choices. Far cry from the buffet lineups for ‘everything you get in a buffet’ across the street. I was asked how I would like my eggs. Poached.  “Light, medium or fully cooked?”, was the follow up. Medium please. Oh my, I’m not in the big city anymore Toto.

Do we have a personal philosophy?

Do you?

A chicken thing, or egg thing?

I think it’s an egg thing.

P.S.: attending Toastmasters conferences is one part learning, one part visiting – familiar faces, familiar places – being away, and feeling ‘at home’ all at the same time ...

morning walk:  -11C/12F, clear and calm, treacherous footing – so I didn’t walk far or fast ..
