Does solving a problem cause anxiety?
Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019
Solving a problem causes anxiety – not from that problem’s solution, which often produces euphoric joy, but before that, in dealing with the problem, we can get pretty worked up.
If it is the first time, we’ve encountered that problem.
But, if it is a problem we’ve had before, not so much. The anxiety is still there, but we are calmer about it because we know how to solve the problem. This isn’t our first rodeo.
We know what to do, and our memory of how to solve it kicks in – so that theory goes.
Success is not built on success. It's built on failure. It's built on frustration. Sometimes it’s built on catastrophe. – Sumner Redstone
The people sometimes who are closest to us are the ones who bear the brunt of our frustration. – Lynn Nottage
Hate, emotionalism, and frustration are not policies. – Madelaine Albright
Problem-solving comes in several forms:
Beating our head against the wall
Watching someone else beat their head against the wall
Researching how someone else beat their head against the wall
Putting a pillow between our head and the wall
Pick the method that doesn’t hurt!

Well, you’ve done it again Mark! I needed a word of the day for Toastmasters. What better word than Eudaimonia for the theme: Lest We Forget! Democracy is such a gifted way to get to live life fully with Eudaimonia, wouldn’t you say?, SF, Lethbridge, AB
Love the idea and hope everyone is working on it. Hopefully, we’re also smart enough and strong enough to see negative(s) in ourselves and work to turn them positive as well, LH, Lethbridge, AB
When I tested positive for cancer it was not the worst day or the best day ……….just another day!, AN, Calgary, AB
