HALF WAY MEETING

‘Fall back hour’ day yesterday – we all got an extra hour.
What did you do with yours?
Gusta didn’t seem to notice – she’s always led more by odor than beauty of sunrise painting underbelly of every cloud magenta. Inspiring. Not the point I should get up later or walk later.
For one day, I thought I would spend that ‘free hour’ walking in morning quiet, my headphones like ear muffs, listening to tunes and letting Gusta walk until she got a half-way exhausted look, and then we walked back.
And, as these things often do, my half-way thought …
Sent my mind down another ponder path – remembering so many half-way measures in life that only get us half-way – as if we were expected our there in the world, like an old friend, to meet us half-way.

After reading your musing, I realized that you were sincerely reaching out to those you had not heard from for a long time. I just sent a silly response so here is my heartfelt response. What is new with me? Well, I have settled in my new community (three years now since retirement). I have joined a New Ventures Band and am playing clarinet (sort of). I am continuing to enjoy photography and meet lots of great people that way. And of course, am in a book club which introduces me to books that I would not necessarily read. I miss my intimate life so much and realize more and more how much humans need that to thrive. We all need a few strokes sometimes. But I have decided to focus on the positives and continue to work on my health and my music. It doesn't come close to replacing sex but it is a good goal to reach for now. But I too am beyond appalled and yet there are those who think he is worthy of being the president. Can they even hear what he is saying??? Am I insane to think they are insane??? And it has only gotten worse since you wrote this…I cannot wait for it to be over and God help us all, should he succeed!!!, anonymous ...
