CHOOSE A DIFFERENT GROOVE
Monday Oct. 20, 2014
Adventure ahead.
There will be magic, difficulty and pain – opportunity upon opportunity waits for us.
Seize or not.
Challenges waiting for us to stretch.
Or not.
There will be surprise, there will be dullness.
Make your choice.
Begin now.
No turning back.
Remember records?
Not hospital records, computer records or archives – but music, tunes – round and round, needle following groove, playing favourites, love songs and ballads, arias and street songs and goofy-tunes , like wheels on buses that go round and round.
New week. Fresh start. What are you doing differently?
New week.
Fresh start.
What are you doing differently?
Like a broken record, every Monday begs these questions?
At week’s end are we no further ahead – just older?
Not to suggest we choose different solely for variety, for entertainment value (hey, maybe!), but to put our body/brain package on a different track on the record that plays all day, a different groove producing different tunes.
We face these life’s challenges and opportunities – face it alone, or face it together …
Remember those wheels on the bus turn vewwy slowly.
But here we are … different, again, or not.
Some people will be thrown under that bus.
Someone will be driving that bus …
Some will hum a tune they can’t get out of their head – while sporting ear-to-ear grins that have nothing to do with leftover weekend emotion, simply joy of making the week different, from making their week or someone else’s week worthwhile, pushing good ideas forward, making real things happen that make the world incrementally better, which nudge people from their rut and teach them it is a groove.

morning walk: 6C/43F, clear, scarce breeze, sun rising, construction completion of street repairs just in time for morning commuters to park on our street – lots of wheels turning, six lanes of traffic hurtling people to work … perchance to make a difference, this week unfolds …
