PUSH-PULL FOREVER
Thursday Oct. 26, 2017
We fight for things, fight against things – pushing for change, pushing rocks up hills – often pushing on a door when all we need do is pull.
Far more doors are open than are locked, far more people are open for business than closed for the night, or closed forever.
Forever is a very long time. We are better served focusing on today. And maybe on tomorrow. We don’t need bifocals, binoculars or a telescope to see that. Sometimes microscopes. Better yet, microscopic truth telling. Not everything, not to the whole world necessarily, but at least to ourselves.
Forever, word we should lose; i.e., “I’ve been doing that forever” or ‘that will take/last forever”.
Simply a matter of pulling rather than pushing, sometimes it’s a soft touch rather than harsh words, sometimes simply ‘not fighting the obvious’.
