They advertise DNA searching, family tree searching – finding out about ourselves, about our unknown connection points with others by some serious of genetic or relationship connections is a great math exercise and it appears valid math, valid science of six degrees of separation seems like too much work for the software – and there will be a ‘joke is on you’ laugh somewhere along the way.
One degree of separation seems to me, where the real action is. Where we need di the most work – with the highest opportunity for return, for growth, for learning - with people we know, but not deeply enough, completely enough, clearly and transparently enough. Start in the next office, next cubicle, next call, next meeting. Ask, but only if you care to know. Then listen, see how much you learn …
