Out of the blue.

We’ve discounted and doubted that term so often, as it should not be the explanation for anything – and it tends to surprise people as if it’s exceptional that an opportunity or connection arrived that way, just out of the blue …

We are living a life-as-we-know-it altering event, and we’ve parked at the roadside and turned off the lights. Yes, it’s good that we aren’t racing madly ahead as if nothing is wrong, but because we aren’t looking forward to, with the headlights on high-beam, what are we missing? Are we missing the next threat, the next opportunity, or both?

Tomorrow, next month, and next year are ahead of us. Just as that was true last year, the statement will hold true again next year and the year after that. What will our answer be, several years hence, when someone asks what we’ve been doing without industrious and creative lives?

Sadly, I expect many explanations will include references to sitting on the sidelines and/or waiting for their government to provide for them. The opportunities we need will come ‘out of the blue’ for you and for me, but we’ll only see them if we are moving forward with our eyes open and the headlights on …

This or that never spontaneously erupts from some spore, taking root under a toadstool in someone’s yard. There is always some cause reason we cannot see, but it is no less real.

WAITING TO HESITATE
I loved that 3rd last paragraph Mark! Takes me back a 100 years. Used to hear "all good here", JJ, Calgary, AB

I’ve now had two negative Covid-19 tests, but I’ll keep trying, because I am not a quitter, RH, Calgary, AB
