DEFY DEATH - GO WIDE
Sunday Sept. 13, 2015
Look ahead. Look back. Life is long.
And wide.
Should be fuller. Longer (if we can). Later years of any long life won’t be as robust up-close as we’ve dreamt them from afar. In our denial, WILL we be different?
Hey, what about that wide part, how much can we compress, squeeze in – or should we expand?
Do more … for sake of more or do better, think better, dream better, plan better, talk better, listen better – worthy of this precious evaporating time commodity we invest?
Decide priorities. Allocate time. Execute. Nuthin’ to it. Repeat daily. Life should never be simpler. Time won't be gone, but we will.
Going wide doesn’t postpone death’s inevitability – but leaves more of us behind during our second half, when we have less time and space out in front of us.

morning walk: 9C/49F, drizzling dark, long, brisk, wet. Soggy dog – Gusta’s a water-dog breed and she loves it. I loved the pace, the traction, happy ankle action …

Love this, Mark. I'm in the same boat - 63 and counting. Here's to a long life!, JM, Seattle, WA
Was seeing A Walk in the Park the reason for today’s muse? …. Sure seemed like it. I thought I’d like to see the movie for some light hearted humor about getting old, but Redford especially showing his years has me rethinking that decision … I liked him best in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and the other one where he was a gambler but can’t remember the name .. guess I’m getting old, too.
