ONE BODY AND TIME – NOTHING ELSE
Monday Sept. 14, 2015
I have a right to give.
I don’t have a right to take.
Even in this hostile world’s darkest places or worst circumstances where life’s worst horrors live – everyone can be an agent of change.
Not because we should – not because anyone told us to. Today or any other day, should we not first give thanks and gratitude to that freedom, that will?
We all can – be givers, or takers, in life. Any one of us can change this world. Most of us don’t even dream of trying. Too easy to say: ‘I wouldn’t know where to start’.
Because we can. Because things need doing …
You can.
I can.
Easy to expect those most powerful and wealthy, privileged and positioned – to do more than we expect of ourselves. If they give all they can spare, is that better than if I give all I can spare?
Easy to confuse. Wealthy powerful people have and make, and can give more cash, more power, more influence. They can only give one life, only one body. Nothing more. Which is more important – money, or effort; reward, or impact; recognition, or results?
How far back do we have to go to explain who we are, why we are who we are, and what we want from life?
Before. Before that. Before the beginning. Better question by far is what do we want to give to life?
Whether giving to loved ones, to our community, to the world – whether we give what we can right now, or provide for giving when we are gone, we can only give all we have.
Are you taking?
Or giving?
