Summer’s last gasp …
Did you find what you wanted, play as you wanted, frolic in the sunshine and bask in reality of the growing season?
If not, there’s always next year.
Easily we get hung-up on month-end, year-end, season changes, new-year, milestones, birthdays, anniversaries. Measurements – what we did, when we did it. Strong forces, ones we don’t spend much time examining.
Should we?
Life, like books we dog-eared, sticky noted or high-lighted – reminding us, jogged memories to re-find that place …
Not against memorable dates, just more for ‘memorable experiences’, not so worried about deadlines or headlines as I love/prefer unforgettable lines/unforgettable times.
Life isn’t magic, it’s life. Magnificent, fantastic in every twist of AWE, inspiring, endlessly fascinating.
People, on the other hand (by the way, what do one-armed philosophers say?*) are magical. Look in their eyes, watch them glow, watch them ‘just be’ and you will be in AWE like me …
Changing seasons, measurement, notice/reminder of ‘tipping point’. What earth does.
For me, better tipping points are memories. Most memories which stick, we are not the only person in the room, rarely the most important person in the room. In any room – and the reason those memories are so indelible is because of the incredible experience we were having with someone(s) we found AWE inspiring, there, in that moment. We might be face to face at the time, or half-way around the earth at the time – but we’ll never forget that moment. We might forget that date or which way the earth was tipping, but we’ll never forget that feeling, never lost that memory.
*On the other hand …
