YOU STEER

Bicycle for two?
Two people, riding. Someone steering. Swap positions, someone is always out front, steering. Someone peddling just as hard, just following along.
Nearly everyone I see when I ride is riding solo.
I have this notion, kite built for two. A really big kite. Lots of sail, long tail too. Need more than simple string (maybe wire cable!) as winds take this kite aloft it might go wherever winds go.
But who steers that kite?
There used to be notion that telling someone to “go fly a kite” was dismissive, about someone you were trying to get rid of. I have a new twist in my mind; that lead bike rider saying, “c’mon up front, let’s both steer”.
Kite for two?
Something in the air, let’s go fly a kite.
Or, take a hike …
