BEFORE EVERYTHING STARTS

Before this morning starts, yesterday had to end.
I’ve been working on my process, on ‘night-before’ things to better ensure I get more sleep, better sleep. Mostly things you’ve heard before: quiet time, dim lights, chamomile tea, get morning things (breakfast fixings, get coffee ready, etc. laid out) so then reading before bed in a darkened quiet environment leads to stress free restful sleep. It’s been working. Not perfect, but improved – I’m so glad because I dreaded the notion of sleeping pills. But I had to do something!
Something further – I’ve been reading got me thinking about expanding my evening pre-bedtime routine: journaling about the done day, visualization about next day. Seems decisions made in advance clear the way for morning unfolding smoothly, hit the ground running – rested and rolling …

morning walk with Gusta: 3C/38F, glove time, overcast and breezy – rain predicted. I think Gusta’s nose was following some deer-scat but no ungulates were found. Great stretch/walk, great tunes in my ears …
