WITHOUT WARNING
Tuesday, September 14, 2021
Most of us prefer our safe backwater of anonymity.
In a crowd or on the airwaves of the social media landscape, it’s easy to be quiet, lurking in obscurity, but it doesn’t change much.
And we should change.
Plenty.
Change isn’t everyone else’s responsibility, nor solely our own.
Without warning, people show up – or depart. People speak out while others sit on their mouths.
Silence is never a problem.
We all need some.
But not speaking up or speaking out when someone should is a cop-out, an evasion of something. Not so much avoidance of responsibility but more a reluctance or retreat from accountability.
Without warning, things happen.
