SUMMER GASPS ITS LAST

Summer?
Done.
A few days remaining till official first day of autumn – but ‘real summer’ milestones have clicked by.
Back-to-school shopping is done, high-season rates for hotels and gasoline are ending, Labour Day weekend is here, leaves browning, sweater season is here – time to away swimwear for that mid-winter trip south. Time for yard/garden clean up, one last weekend away, memories of another summer well spent (or wasted), reflections on enough leisure (or not enough) – a year from now, will history repeat itself – will it all be the same?
Are you cleaning things up this weekend?
I’ve spent most of these last several weeks doing little usual work, resting lots and getting that ‘really well rested feeling’ I’ve not enjoyed in ages. Re-organizing slices of my life-pie is part of that, readying myself for new adventures has been part of it too. I have some things I want to do that only I can do, some things I want to start only I can start and some things to finish that only I can finish.
Not afraid to leave unfinished business in life – but some things, I’m not prepared to leave any more months or years – they must get done, in part because they are overdue, in part because they sit in my way like boulders on skinny mountain roads. Need to clear them to see my way clear, I need to conquer them to get where I’m going.
Do you have things blocking your path to the life you would ‘perfectly design’ if only you had the time, if only those obstacles weren’t there? It’s a long weekend. There is time.
