| FIRST DAY THIS FALL
Thursday, September 22, 2022 - column #7128
This day is like any other Thursday, but it markers another quarter-turn in our lap around the sun – another summer is done with us, and we are done with it. It’s been a good summer, better than the last two, but it could be better. There is a lot of anxiety in our land about everything you can imagine, and while prices, interest rates and inflation are top issues du jour, there is more to it than that.
But why worry?
What can we do?
You might say, “Not much,” but I think that’s a wrong-headed view. There is much we can do, alone and together, to ride this out and enjoy a better quality of life and prosperity in the end. For instance, during our pandemic, we did less of nearly everything – we travelled less, spent less, played less, worked less – and adjusted remarkably.
In contrast, the stability of everything we take for granted experienced a good shaking.
And here we are.
What can I/we do?
Anything.
This new season, the reason to break out some warmer clothing and the windshield scraper – frost, fall, and falling leaf time is here again – time for warm hearts, warm fires and warm sweaters.
Happy fall, y’all!
