QUIT OVER-THINKING

Tuesday Sept. 3, 2019

Every element of preparation is work.

Sometimes, joyous passion, but mostly preparation is like a pair of oxen yoked together working an unbroken field pulling their one-bottom plow – never-ending drudgery.

Result?

A field.

Crop to harvest.

Seems so remotely far removed from task at hand.

Good thing oxen don’t have a big brain to overthink things … .

Experience teaches that from every hundred seeds planted, they won’t all grow and we can’t harvest them all at once.

But we keep planting.

No matter what a poor season it was, fields are plowed, farmers plant again.

And again. And again.

No matter how tedious, those oxen keep plowing.

Selling widgets, selling ideas, changing the world – just different words for plowing new ground, planting, sowing seeds.

They don’t all grow.

But we keep planting.

Don’t overthink it.
