DOING TWO THINGS AT THE SAME TIME

We rail against it when hypocrisy is revealed to us regularly.
Yet we tolerate it and demonstrate that tolerance in spending our money, where we deposit our votes and our purchases with one store over another.
If we can call our life here democracy with a straight face, we are pulling off a miracle. While our politicians dismiss the horrors of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we too quickly take for granted the governments in Canada and its provinces.
For example, the circus/gong show in Alberta is as perverse as I’ve seen in my lifetime. A confidence vote by the UCP party membership starts this weekend – and the count will take five weeks to be announced – which is neither transparent nor credible.
We are so lucky to be free; it would be so much better to feel democratic at the same time.
Reader feedback:
That is a great combination, Mark…be kindly interactive and complete daily routines … I too, find both behaviours vital to my well being. My husband cooks, I do the dishes. Case in point; I promised myself to never go to bed until dishes are done. Some pre bed nights when fatigue is high, well, I do them anyway, so he wakes up to a clean kitchen. Seems unimportant, but the opposite is true. Thanks for writing about this, SF, Lethbridge, AB
