HEART RACING
Sunday Dec. 27, 2015
Does prize size matter? We’ve either won, or not. Success in living life, isn’t about scoring one winning tickets – it seems more like feeling, knowing, you are a winner without need for a prize, any size …
Easier than ever to rest, relax, spectate, float – not as observer above crowds, waiting to leap in, but sideline viewer lifting fingers long enough to change channels. C’mon, it’s time to get off that couch …
Be middle of it all. Isn’t that what everyone wants? Be where the action is, be the buzz, be the one who was – who is – sought out. Why is anyone sought while schussing downhill, winning yacht races down under, elbowing their way through malls, or while curled up with a good book? Or with someone who has read one? When we think about it, that talking head, that head of whatever, guru, boss, market leader, wise guy (or gal), power broker – they’re just people too, like me. And you. Love what we love, hate what we hate, fear what scares us. Not exactly, but mostly.
Doesn’t everyone want something exciting? Don’t you? To be, to think about, to work toward, to struggle with something? Grazing time, puzzling. Crosswords and jigsaws, old work and cleaning up the debris of holiday times, mopping up after the laughter and spilled gravy, putting away signs of cheer (or preparing for New Year’s), there is GAP time and I don’t mean the store, idyllic idle times, weekend off, before our week off … where are you and what are you doing, what makes your heart race?
Want what we want.
Not exactly.
But mostly.

morning walk: -6C/20F, cloudy, moon still hanging on in the west, light breeze – Gusta happy to be home where surroundings are familiar, a long empty train rumbling by – there is nothing more appealing that softening snow underfoot and moist air to invigorate lungs and heart rate …
