FOR ALEX
Saturday Jan. 24, 2015
New experiences, I find, most often are old experiences with changes of scenery.
Nothing more exciting than when we make a child.
Actually, making has different memories, but the having, makes it all so incredible to imagine all that fun/work so long ago. Add many years, many things – such a blur.
Long ago seems like yesterday.
But you know they grow up and live lives of their own magic, make their own memories and make their own babies – such a full-circle feeling of it all when we make grandchildren.
Others think they played some role.
Perhaps they did.
But as a grandparent, it is hard to not feel completely proud and totally accountable for what has happened.
Happy birthday little man.
Should auld experiences, be forgot …

morning walk: 5C/41F, daybreak peeking under the clouds, strong warmd Chinook winds, overnight rain frozen, some melted, on top of snow-melt rivers made for insane walking conditions for both of us – but I found some soft snow and Gusta was content to spin-out on the ice ..
