SEE-CHANGES

Maslow analyzed needs. And needing.
If he was figuring out humans today …
With advances in technology, medical ethics pushing envelopes, space travel, PCs’, internet, iPhones, to name a handful, would he see behavior differently?
I see only one element that might shift his thinking. Not our craving for connection, not ‘fear of missing out’, not fear of being left behind – I think it is not knowing. Not knowing what could be, or could have been. What can still be …
Ah, to know what I don’t know so I can be better at who I am, do more of value while I am … here.
I’m inspired by brilliant youngsters with great ideas. Inspired far more when people in 70s, 80s and 90s don’t give up, keep dreaming and scheming. So what of downturns, recessions and sea-changes – been there, seen there, done that! Makes me feel SO young.
I have a ‘little project’ that might become a big one. Or as easily become another footnote in my ‘ideas that never flew’ repertoire. Easily it’s too ambitious. Would, could, might be a great success. If only I was twenty years younger.
Or thirty. But it didn’t come to me then! It arrived now. Can I pull it all together? Probably. Should I? More important, do I want to?
Hmm … does it fit my current level of need?
Well, I’m here. Now.
I’ve found new energy, new power. Not sure where or exactly when, other than to say ‘lately’. Feeling better, stronger, more effective, clearer and vital than ever. OK, maybe it’s the Cialis … but I really think it’s something else.

morning walk: -3C/26F, light snow on top of yesterday’s thaw-freeze makes for dodgy footing – but everything looks so clean and white again, it’s gorgeous. Gusta sprinted, no doubt so she could race home to hork-down her food (that can’t be good, but the sound effects are so entertaining …)
