GIVE AND TAKE

AH+HA’s. Do you get these?
Product of long thought out, well executed carefully articulated pitch, proposal or offering. They show up. No predetermined date on my calendar. No word but EPIPHANY applies.
Most recently, today. Early. Who knew?
Can’t discuss details – not because of any trade secret I’m hoarding, but right now that information is between me and some potential clients. Tried on a lark – not to drive new business leads, but to provide valued information for free to people who might need it, want it or just find it interesting. Other motives too, but mostly that. Smiling – recalling past AH+HA moments, when lamest marketing brochure I ever did produced ‘most business ever done with one client’. Who knew? Recalling chance meetings, taps on my shoulder and ‘what is that you do?’ queries. Unforgettable, treasured, extraordinary relationships. Clients. Friends. Some of both, some are both.
Like anyone in any business, I spend time planning, scheduling, executing marketing efforts.
With goods, services, advice, publications, advertising or imagination – we offer to sell.
What do customers want?
They typically want to buy, but hate being sold, hate to be pushed, manipulated, ‘marketed to’ or gamed yet so much selling, marketing and promotion is structured that way. Old school. Trying hard to unlearn those worn-in habits. So, AH+HA moments that appear from NOT SELLING is profound, powerful – resting on fulcrum of ‘people we know, like and trust’ but there is so much more …
All give and take.
Give to others, let them take.
Sometimes we get thank-you, a thank-you-wave.
Sometimes nothing.
Sometimes, an AH+HA!
Had my share, but so often didn’t recognize their magic. Pity.

morning walk: -9C/16F – daylight now. We walked early, very early – I think it was 4:30AM – Gusta liked the quiet, I liked the private obscurity of walking unobserved, alone with my thoughts and my dog.

BLAST OFF
Hi Mark, I think I sent you this...but maybe not; anyway didn't want to miss sharing with you and I loved your blast off musing today...
The following is just for you - Oh boy, it is the start of a new year and one must pay attention to what expands the capacity to love; both in self and for others...and so...JoAnne started the 'heart' ball rolling and along came my friend, Isabelle with this quote from a book she was reading. It appealed to me enough to share it with 'You All' as we continue our next yearly trek together”
At a certain point, we forgive because we decide to forgive.
Healing occurs in the present, not the past.
We are not held back by the love we didn't receive in the past,
but by the love we're not extending in the present.
Either God has the power to renew our lives, or he doesn't.
Could God be looking at any of us and saying "I'd love to give
you a joyful life, but your mother was terrible, my hands are tied"
