What defines ‘urgent’?
Is it the same meaning we always had or has it shifted?
From FOMO (fear of missing out) to FOMSU (fear of missing something urgent), we must define what constitutes urgency.
Add to that mix the distractions du jour – calls, meetings, emails, text messages, and snail-mail too; it’s a wonder sometimes how we can get done what we get done. I know someone having significant success in his business, a large portion of which he attributes to being social media-driven. I asked him how much time he devotes to promoting his business on social media. His answer was initially dodgy, but in conversation, he revealed he spends most of the morning on social media daily.
I have to wonder how much more successful he would be if he spent his entire day being creative with his obviously successful work?
I think we call get too focused, too distracted, and too overwhelmed with the art of keeping up that we delay and avoid the more important and the more urgent – but mostly, we don’t spend enough time grinding away at what we do most and best.

I enjoyed reading this Mark. Thank you. I agree that our own attitudes guide how our days pass. And because I absolutely crave an “ unforgettable day of innovation, creativity and joy”, today I will be trying to creatively add joy to the mundane, HM, Calgary, AB
