ANY VIEW YOU WANT
Sunday June 14, 2015
For everyone we meet who seems more together than we feel, there are hundred-fold others who see us as the together ones.
Struggling, putting their daily affairs in order, or maybe they stretch for the longer term.
Having things in order only matters if you need that.
If chaos gives better shelter to your fears or better play-space for dreams, then choose chaos.
Envying tidy bespoke lives, dream roadmaps representing life paths, tidy-perfection, figured-out lives where days make sense and night’s magic make trade winds push work’s sweat-boat to soft beaches, physical health purrs, mental state is a treasure trove of intellectual satisfaction, social health enjoys bon-vivant status – very cool.
Poof.
Market-hyping ourselves, creating illusive façades – manicured lawns, shaped bodies, exquisite homes, fine cars, trendy restaurants, wardrobes say we belong, impeccable resumes to prove we do … ah, looks so grand.
Grand deception …
So many wants, so badly and so obviously displayed, our marketplaces trip over our credit cards delivering replica merit badge accomplishments for bein’ cool.
Everyone seems to want some version of this imaginary head space – easy life, easy street, easy time of it – no mess, muss, or fuss – having it all just figured out.
Neat.
Tidy.
Has anyone met anyone who really does?
Maybe, if I just tidy up a little …
Wide-open plains are not plain, wide-open hearts don’t spill their value, wide-open eyes only see what is in front of them. We look in mirrors – not to sort confusion or find clarity – seeing ourselves amidst chaos until we don’t see chaos any longer. We see ourselves.
Just one person.
One mirror.
Any view you want …

morning walk: 7C/45F, breeze/chilly but mostly clear, grass dew doing what dew does – soggy dog and soggy pants returning from our walk/trot mildly winded …
