POWER OF THREE

Wednesday May 20, 2015

Three.

Things to do.

That’s all.

Wow. Great day. Only three files on my desk.

Actually, that’s four things. One file has two completely different tasks. Then, that tray with ‘today’ in it. Today could become tomorrow. Great. Back to three files, four tasks. Check appointment calendar. Appointment – and a task. Make that three files, five tasks. OK, I’ve already done morning rituals, knocked off five tasks, walked dog, written this column, reduced diarized items (love/hate relationship with database calendar) to forty-two. OK, forty-two items (calls, appointments, to-do’s), three files, four tasks. Well, four plus forty-two. Forty-six. I just spent five minutes culling diarized items, so forty-two is down to thirty-nine. Which, adding four tasks equals forty-four. Plus today tray which really can’t be completely shoved-off to tomorrow.

How is your day?

I’ll start with three.

column written/ published from Calgary, AB

morning walk:  4C/40F, clear and calm – streets empty, Gusta seemed so surprised by how far we walked [gym trip yesterday + foot feeling much better are cause of that], it seems so brilliantly summery except for lagging temperatures – and a spectacular sunrise launched this beautiful morning

Reader feedback:

SELF-GUIDED TOUR

Hey Mark, Last winter I threatened to take you on a hike up another mountain [Heart Mountain]this spring.  I’ve been watching your Gusta walking reports with interest, as I need to see when your knee and foot issues get better (enough) to allow you to go for a four or five hour uphill (followed by downhill) walk.   What’s the prognosis?, AK, Calgary, AB

Hmmnn, that title makes me wonder: wouldn't a self guided tour be a tad bit biased?  I mean you would only want to show the best of the best on the tour, would you not?  Wouldn't want to necessarily air the dirty laundry, so to speak.  Looking back on the many jobs/careers I have had; two come to mind as the best of the best.  Cooking and landscaping, so if I could go back a Musing I would wave my magic wand and create a restaurant with a huge vegie garden where I could create meals from the restaurant's garden...now that would be nice!  GW, Bon Wier, Tx.
