KEEP THE CHANGE
Tuesday, May 24, 2022
It is challenging to resist changes – morphing from the way things are/have been to the way they will be in the future.
It is one thing to recognize that change/transition (aging, relocations, job change, relationship chapters, did I mention aging?) will occur.
We can read books on visualization, hire a coach, or buy a couch – the adjustments we make are predictable and complex. It is quite another matter to blithely motor on as if a change is inevitable and will have no impact on our angst-meter as we experience changes.
Changes can be planned or accidental.
Look back at the changes/shifts in your past – ask whether they were planned or accidental?
Look at the good ones, the painful ones, and the ones that got away.
Now, again, what worked?
What failed?
What lessons did we learn?
Reader feedback:
So many things are named after Queen Victoria—a museum, a station and an underground line, hospitals galore. It would be a challenge to find a town in England without a Victoria Road, and I believe Regina, Saskatchewan was named in her honour. But today there isn’t the same degree of respect or fondness for the monarchy, so I doubt we will see a sudden move to name streets after Elizabeth, HW, Calgary, AB
