SUMMER FORECAST
Friday, May 6, 2022
Waking to open-windowed mornings, fresh air wafting in, bringing a cacophony of early morning bird symphonies inside.
One of the best bits of this time of year, spring leaves unfurling started – as have all manner of dire weather predictions for our coming summer pleasure/pain. The summer will be wet, and it will be dry, it will be hot, it will be cool, and it will be unpredictable everywhere.
So, some of it could be bleak, but I feel it will be spectacular here. What buoys my feelings was my bike ride yesterday – the first of the season (and my lower back discomfort will lessen each time out), Fish Creek Park is alive and well.
Crews have been busy felling dead trees and cleaning up debris, old yellow grass waving in the wind hides lots of green coming up from below, and the site of a nesting pair of Osprey on the big perch (not far from the east side of MacLeod Trail – near the Glennfield area parking lot in Fish Creek Park) – a high platform atop a very tall telephone pole. They’ll be dining on Bow River trout this summer …

Hi Mark, I think the other useful treatment for 'drafts' is to read the out loud and see how they sound. Again, as you said, sometimes the best way to use notes is to phone and not to write, JR, Calgary, AB
