THOUGHT FOR THOUGHT

Scanning morning newspapers, searching for remarkable …
I’m not railing against reality – just amazed how mass marketing meets mass consumption, 21st century methods presuming we haven’t changed much, so much thoughtless loudness trumping (pun intended) serious thought.
Close by or far away – abductions, terrorism, crime, war, refugees. TV’s awash in coverage of this silly season mixed with bad sitcoms making it impossible to separate sanity from inanity. Newspapers, murkier every week as news vs. ‘paid news’ meld without so much as a dotted line or font change to separate that which is reporting from that which is simply repeating someone’s self-promotional message …
I scanned my familiar quote sources – I found this gem: “There is a higher court than courts of justice and that is the court of conscience. I supersedes all other courts.” – Mahatma Gandhi

morning walk: 6C/43F, overcast, misty (which seems like thin drizzle to me), fresh steady breeze and silent streets – houses in darkness, we saw a lost deer down the alley - otherwise uneventful and perfect for clearing the palate of my brain …

ONE BODY AND TIME – NOTHING ELSE
Very simple and to the point this morning Mark. I’ve always tried to be on the side of a giver as opposed the taker. We often say we are over committed in our personal lives – volunteering, participating in boards or charitable causes we believe in but all is a huge part of the giving. I don’t think we often pause to think of it in those terms but default to the “I just don’t seem to have enough time”. In the greater scheme of things, I find the reflection very helpful and helps put it in perspective. We all give to degrees, whether to raising families, our work, etc. We just have to be cautious that the takers are held to accountability of the time they take, RA, Calgary, AB
