FOCUS FINDER
Tuesday Sept. 25, 2018
What does it take to get and keep focused on something?
If we have only one thing on our plate, not hard to focus on table, shelf, wall or desk – all they hold is one thing. Only one. An empty room, but for that solitary chair. If you are truly fully there, all you see is that chair …
My priorities, projects and purpose remain a conflation of too many things competing for my moments of the day, yet I seem to like it that way …
Whittling/paring down – discarding, disregarding have become necessary skills; not to get things done, but to make room, to create more space for things we’ve not had time for.
Too many things to think about.
Too many of them get too little attention.
Too much ‘stuff’, not enough shelf-space …
P.S.: it isn’t really about shelf space, or having more shelves – it’s about having fewer things to focus on, the less divided it is, the more focused and stronger it becomes

BROKE, BROKEN, FIXED
This reminds me of the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen – continuous, incremental improvement adds up to substantial change over time. Sometimes the littlest things can make the biggest impact. Enjoy your columns Mark!!. JC. Sherwood Park, AB
