CARPE my DIEM
Tuesday Nov. 8, 2016
Our destiny, not determined in any nation’s capital, by parents or place in society – but by things we control (though we forget how much control we have) – in relationships, jobs, career paths, children, religion, clubs, hobbies – each pushing us, prodding us, along our trail as we follow our expectations. Sometimes following someone else’s as if they were our own choices without really thinking about it very much – because we were 16 or 21 or 25, or …
Well, age doesn’t have so much to do with it. For me, series of self-expectations – without any form of regret over expectations not met. I’ve learned my control over what has gone by is pretty limited. I can deal with what is front of me and sometimes even pick up some speed doing down that hill we’ve ‘gone over’.

HALF WAY MEETING
Going half-way, and returning same way, works best in exploring (or scuba diving) caves. Yesterday my hike in the mountains provided a similar choice, but instead I opted for an alternate route that formed a loop; I reached the same destination and returned to the same origin, but the scenery was new each step of the way, KK, Calgary AB
MAYBE A CONNECTION
Maybe the secret is that anyone who can survive an earthquake can survive just about anything else (and therefore live a long time), KK, Calgary, AB
